Rental Equipment

Light Tec’s rental equipment is comprised of professional photographic equipment and accessories.  Therefore, it is assumed that the renter is familiar with the operation and care of the equipment.  Unfamiliarity with the equipment does not eliminate the obligation of rental charges or repair charges.

Light Tec has many special items and sources for other equipment which may not be listed herein.  Please contact us about your requirements.

Charges

All prices listed are per-day (24 hours or fraction thereof) charges, except where noted.  Monthly rates are available upon request.

Rates are charged for the time the equipment is in your possession, whether or not it is being used.  Rental rates are subject to change without notice.

Deposit

A deposit for the full replacement value of the equipment is required.  Cash, certified check, or American Express, VISA, MasterCard, or Discover are accepted for preapproved deposit amounts.  (Please note:  bank, debit, or check cards are not suitable for deposits.)  The required deposit does not constitute an offer to sell the rental equipment for the amount of the deposit.

Minimum Order

For those clients having an established credit account with Light Tec, the minimum rental charge will be $10.00 per order, unless the order is paid in cash upon return.

Taxes

All applicable taxes are the responsibility of the renter, unless a properly completed and executed tax exemption certificate is on file at Light Tec prior to the rental.

Reservations

Equipment is scheduled on a reservation basis so that you have the equipment you need when you need it.  Please allow as much lead time as possible when reserving your equipment.

Cancellation Charges

Because your equipment is reserved for you, a cancellation charge equal to one (1) day’s rental will be charged if we are not notified of the cancellation before the day for which the equipment is requested.

Maintenance/Malfunction

Each piece of rental equipment is inspected and tested prior to its rental.  While our maintenance program prevents many problems, we cannot anticipate equipment failure or field conditions.

We encourage you or your assistant to inspect and/or test the equipment before acceptance.  In the case of malfunction, contact us immediately, mark the equipment, and describe the difficulty or circumstances in which it occurred.  When operator error causes damage to the equipment, repairs will be charged to the client.

Insurance

Renters accept full responsibility for any loss or damage to the equipment from any cause whatsoever.  Proof of adequate insurance coverage for full replacement value of the equipment may be required prior to rental.

Loss or Theft

Rental rates will be charged on equipment that is lost or stolen until Light Tec is reimbursed for the replacement value.

Spare Lamps

Rental rates include spare lamps, which will be provided upon request.  There will be no charge for spare lamps provided burned-out lamps are returned with the equipment when due.  A charge will be made for broken or missing lamps, unsuitable replacements, or excessive burnouts.

Out-of-Town Rentals

Minimum billing is two (2) days when equipment is shipped by Light Tec.  Equipment is shipped insured and freight collect on the day you select.  Equipment is to be returned prepaid, insured, and marked for delivery to Light Tec.  Light Tec is not responsible for delays caused by the carrier.  In the event of such delays, the rental is still responsible for all transportation and rental charges.  If it is critical that you receive the equipment by a certain date or time, shipping at least 48 hours in advance is recommended.   

Rental/Purchase

Charges for equipment rental will NOT apply toward purchase of similar equipment.  Rental equipment is generally not available or offered for sale.
