Light Tec is the Southwest's largest lighting and equipment house. We cater to professional image makers and are a resource for photographers, assistants, film makers, and videographers. These are the things you need to know to make your buying experience a great one.

Over the years, we’ve been asked some very interesting, peculiar, and mundane questions about the company, the products we sell, and the services we provide.  Here are a few of actual questions we are asked (you get to choose in which category they fall).

What exactly does Light Tec do?  In a nutshell, we sell and rent studio and location lighting equipment and accessories to the professional photographic market.  (Try saying that three times fast.)

How come I never heard of you until recently?  For the past 27 years, our primary focus has been to serve the professional market (those clients that make their primary living in photography).  We have always welcomed those who have expressed an interest in learning about this highly technical segment of photography.  We have had a web presence since 1994 (when we used to use Gopher to navigate) and advertised in the professional level trade publications.  We’ve just been waiting for you.

Do you accept credit cards for payment?  Yes, American Express, Discover, VISA, MasterCard, and Diner's Club.

How high do your 11-foot stands go?  Uh, for you, 10 feet, 12 inches.

What size film do you suggest for my 35mm cameras?  Uh, small format.

How many colors of black seamless do you carry?  Uh, only the special professional photographic black.

I just attended a seminar with “X” on large format fashion photography.  I have to get the five-light setup that they had to shoot my portraits.   I only want to spend $500.00.  How can you help me?  We can help you by sitting down with you to find out what you need to best work for your style of photography and what you want to do with it.  By listening to you, we can help you narrow down your choices in order to help you make an intelligent decision to purchase your equipment from among all the options the market can offer you. 

Why don’t you carry everybody’s stuff?  The warehouse isn’t big enough.  Seriously, we have over 50 different vendors for equipment, accessories, and supplies.  Each of them has a whole lot of stuff.  We select our vendors carefully for their customer service (to us and then to you) and product quality to our market segment.  In essence, we do carry a lot of stuff; we simply do not have the physical room to stock it here all the time.  In fact, no one does.  But we are happy to order your selections in a timely manner.
